I get frustrated by the constant stream of "Register and get your first
year cheap" promotions so many TLDs seem to run, this seems exceedingly
counterproductive to me. I'd love to see the discounts start on
multi-year registrations, but sadly nearly all TLDs that run promotions
just do the 1-year thing. I think it was .info that was the first to
offer a promotional free year.
.com/.net/.ca do transfer time between registrars and have for many
years. I'd expect this to be consistent with the new TLDs, although I
have never looked it up.
