[dns-operations] Mass deletion of .tw sub-domains?

In support of my DANE/DNSSEC survey, I hoard and once or twice a
month re-check a cache of ~60 million not yet signed domains in
various TLDs for which I don't don't have authoritative data feeds.

This month, I noticed an unexpectedly large number of deleted .tw
domains. Out of an original 708131 .tw domains 274282 (39%) were
deleted this month, leaving just 433849.

Is anyone at liberty to shed some light on what transpired to account
for such a large change? The deleted domains do look rather "random"
to me. Did some sort of large-scale abuse get shut down?

[ FWIW, below my signature is a lightly encoded sample of 200 randomly
  chosen deleted .tw domains. ]
