Moin,

Nope. You are not missing anything.

IANA will update the NS RRset.
IANA will update the root hints file.
Resolver/Server distributions will be updated with that.
Priming queries will do their job and get the new NS RRset to resolvers.
Resolver admins might update their root hints, or not.

DNS as usual.
