That's not a reason not to implement it.  While there are many admins who track mailing lists to keep up to date on what's out there and figure out whether we *need* to upgrade or not, having software to do it for us is a good thing.

One of the mantras of a sysadmin that I try to live by is "never do anything a third time if you can avoid it.  Write something to do it for you."
