Right, the similarity to IPFIX is striking.  (As usual, it's probably
easier to start from scratch, though.)

There are also applications beyond archival.  For instances, a
resolver cloud might want to exchange cache updates and validation
results (because somewhat expensive asymmetric cryptographic
operations are involved).
