[dns-operations] AAAA root-servers.net records now live?

I seem to think I heard from some people (either here or somewhere  
nearby) that [a-m].gtld-servers.net were behaving as if they had an  
updated root hints file before the root-servers.net and root zones  
were updated (as if because what little I know of Atlas suggests there  
are no such files in practice).

Perhaps that, combined with Atlas' "hybrid" response behaviour when  
dealing with explicit queries for glue, resulted in a record being  
cached?

For example, if the following query was sent by the cache in question  
at a time when only [a-m].gtld-servers.net had the AAAAs available to  
them, it seems quite plausible that an answer could have been received  
from one of those servers and subsequently cached.
