Irrespective of impact or lack thereof to the roots, this kind of  
radical and undiscussed change in default behavior is not the sort of  
thing site sysadmins welcome.  So, from a sysadmin point of view,  
this change is a Bad Idea, as well, and just not in keeping with what  
folks have come to expect from FreeBSD.
