That sort of surprises me.

I've been advocating and privately running AS112 systems for years.  But 
none of the instances are full official AS112 systems advertising to the 
Big Bad Internet.

As such, I suspect that I would not have been allowed to join the list. 
Which disappoints me.

Are the archives visible without subscribing?

I feel like keeping the mailing list closed to just groups announcing 
AS112 to the Big Bad Internet will end up artificially limiting exposure 
of the project and potentially even tarnish the spirit behind it.

I think the Internet community at large benefits from people running 
AS112 servers, even if they are not full blown BGP announcements.

If the consensus that you need to be advertising AS112 to the BBI, then 
so be it.  I'll see myself out.
