Hello,

I am excited to announce the DNS Workbench, a CloudLab-based tool for DNS Software testing and performance analysis. It's designed to help researchers and network professionals assess DNS software in a scalable, and controlled environment. A research team comprising myself (a graduate student at UW–Madison) and collaborators from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Colgate University, Virginia Tech, and Boston University used DNS Workbench to evaluate DNS resolver and authoritative server software under basic configurations across a broad range of workloads. Please find the link to the software repo below. We would like to improve the capabilities and utility of the DNS Workbench.

Feedback from you in the form of general impressions and feature requests would be very welcome. In particular:

  *
What capabilities would make this more useful
  *
Are there testing scenarios or performance metrics you'd like to see supported
  *
Does the tool address a current need for you

Feel free to reply here or send an email directly to our group. Thanks in advance!
