Dear colleagues,

ICANN’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer is pleased to announce that the seventh ICANN DNS Symposium (IDS) will be held on 25 September 2024 online and in Santa Marta, Colombia. IDS 2024 will be co-located with ICANN’s Latin American and Caribbean Domain Names Week and DNS Community Day, organized by the DNS Operations, Analysis and Research Center (DNS-OARC). The week-long series of events begins with a full day of plenary sessions on 23 September 2024 and promises a comprehensive exploration of important DNS issues.

Hotel information is now available at https://icann.org/ids, along with other details about the events.

The theme for IDS 2024 is "Navigating the Future: Innovations and Challenges in DNS Operations”.

IDS 2024 will focus on innovations and challenges shaping the future of the DNS from the perspective of the operator. The symposium invites researchers, developers, and operators (of any description) to present on subjects including, but not limited to, ideas around extending the DNS protocol, optimizing performance, safeguarding DNS communications, and increasing the reliability and availability of DNS service in case of attack or outage.

To submit a presentation proposal, please send a one-paragraph description of your proposed topic to ids-proposals at icann.org by 26 August 2024. We will notify accepted speakers and publish a preliminary agenda by 30 August 2024.

Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
