[dns-operations] Anyone from AWS here?

It appears that AWS uses octal escape sequences in their interface
instead of the industry standard decimal escapes as specified in
STD 13 (RFC 1035).

RFC 1035

\DDD where each D is a digit is the octet corresponding to
the decimal number described by DDD. The resulting
octet is assumed to be text and is not checked for
                special meaning.

This is going to cause confusion. The DNS is not C code. It has
different escape conventions.
