.br tests at registration and DNS update; failure to answer causes deferral or denial of registration. Failure to answer causes denial of update.
.rio testes at registration and DNS update; failure to answer doesn't prevent registration but domain is kept into inactive state (not delegated at parent). Failure to answer causes denial of update.
Neither .br or .rio require correct DNS answers for ownership or registrar transfers.
