Although I see the reason people want to extend zones beyond the
expiration, my experience is that some failures to transfer won't be
noticed until the zone expires, and meanwhile the server has been serving
old (and often incorrect) data for a long time.  If the expire time is a
month, then surely you can detect and fix a failed transfer in that amount
of time?
