Well this would be unfortunate since 'any' queries are not guaranteed to do
anything useful on resolvers. It might return nothing, or only some things.

I'll poke some of my Mozilla friends to see what they think.

I've also anecdotally heard that this is triggering TC=1 responses in some
places which the home gateway then does not understand, leading to _no_
answer.
