I think Francis' presentation at DNS-OARC in Dublin (see earlier links) confirms what you say, but in that presentation the *that* above was qualified to quite some degree.

To put it another way, it looked to me like it's sufficiently hard that you don't want to write your own if someone else has already gone to the trouble of doing it for you :-)
