[dns-operations] Fwd: [outages] .io TLD outage

I'm used to seeing NS TTLs in days from most TLDs, but I haven't done a
comprehensive survey - it'd be interesting. .com/.net are two days, .org is
1 day, and so on.
The negative cache time seems high too. .io's negative cache time is also
one hour. .com/.net/.org's are 15 minutes. (Though curiously this is
because the SOA TTL is 900 seconds, rather than the actual negative cache
time field).
If anyone from the .io operators are here - it would be interesting to know
if those choices are explicit. I think on the face of it, that a 2 day NS
TTL and a 15 minute negative expiry time would both have somewhat mitigated
the impact of the event and may be worth considering.
