[dns-operations] A lot of CNAME queries for domain ?

I solved my problem! Thanks to all for the info.

My issue was that indeed, our DNS servers were returning malformed packets
for those queries, and just those queries. Resolving this latter issue
resulted in a sudden and sharp decrease in the number of the said queries.

Like some have suggested, the bad answer was probably triggering some bug
in some people's software.. and something tells me it is some old versions
of qmail.
