    The advancement is both in all significant browser vendors now
    supporting the ability to embed fonts, plus importantly, type
    foundries finally offering appropriate licensing terms that
    allow for font embedding.

As far as I know, the Lucida Unicode fonts (from Bigelow & Holmes)
are licence free/have been put in the public domain. You get them
with plan9 and deriverates of that. FreeBSD has them in a port.

Earthlingsoft <http://earthlingsoft.net>, which give away the Unicode
checker does use this font as well as their default font). BTW, the
Unicode checker is a great tool.

I seem to remember that the Lucida fonts are also used by Microsoft
as well.
