No.  Double checking I have some archived logs from that same source to
a variety of targets using a number of different source ports.  I even
followed up on this list, but it looks like I misreported them on the
list as A queries, though correctly categorized them as ANY queries
elsewhere.

Off list someone gave me some details on the behavior you're
describing, doing some digging and if I find anything of interest I'll
report back as appropriate.
