Perhaps it is too far a drift, but in other contexts I have heard tell of firewalls etc that were rather picky about seeing both DF (Don't Fragment) and MF (More Fragments) set in an IPv4 header, something one could see if Path MTU discovery is enabled for UDP traffic. rick jones
