[dns-operations] How does resolver query works

Hi All,

I have more NS with more IPs for example

NS1 (IP1,IP2)
NS2 (IP3,IP4)
NS3 (IP5,IP6)

how does resolver query this nameserver, specially in the
case of an outage of some nameserver instances?

In a normal environment a resolver switch to the next NS entry
  if NS1 is down go to NS2 ...

But what happens if a NS entry has more IPs? Is each IP is
asked or only one?

I think it depends on the implementation. Does some one had experience
with this?
