Reports are now coming in from a variety of large DNS operators of huge
traffic spikes (up to 100kqps/server) being observed exactly on both of
these timestamps.
This appears to be entirely unrelated to PowerDNS.
So - did anyone else observe traffic spikes on their resolvers at that time?
