DNS hijacking by China has been in place for years, AFAIR.
What is being observed now (at least, this is new to me) is that it's  
affecting queries to

flickr.com.whatever.tld

the same way as queries to

flickr.com


It's impacting on RH-DNSBLs, and I can't remember this happening  
before... (but maybe I'm just too young and underskilled... :-D)
