In your opinion, which means nothing to me, since you neglected to
respond to the other bits, I know you only look at this from your angle,
IOW, as a user, not a providor to the masses.

There are too many users out there with a little knowledge but no clue,
you assume only people with a clue will read the articles and say "oh
goodie" i'll use them, and when things get slow, we are the first ones
they abuse, because they think DNS is DNS who cares where it comes from,
by anycasting our own DNS IP's in remote pops we saw a dramatic
reduction in complaints, and that's within our own network, how is it
going to be with cry babies sooking about almost one second to look up a
domain, on many web sites that link all over the place, some users could
sit there for many seconds waiting, thats when they start pestering
support staff, for what, their own stupidness because they would not
think to change the DNS back to ours. We know this happens because of
those who use opendns and other globally accessible DNS servers that
some choose to use, however in defence of those using opendns, we do
find the majority who use them, are somewhat competent and they are not
(in this neck of the woods) as well known, every man and martian knows
about google, especially know with most media outlets giving them more
'free press' over this.

So, we will have to agree to disagree on this and end it here because I
wont be changing my policies and you wont change your point of view :)

have a good weekend
