Of course - and the roots are decentralized, and are gradually  
becoming more so.

Gotcha - doing the Right Thing is hard, so, let's do the Easy Thing  
vs. the Right Thing, irrespective of any larger issues/consequences.

All kidding aside, it seems to me that making a default behavioral  
change of this type in an OS without broader consultation isn't  
necessarily very wise.
