and yet, for many years everyone else had to speak "transfer-format
one-answer" (as it was later called) because of bugs in BIND4.  i'm
afraid that microsoft's installed base is too large for the DNAME
community to just ignore.  if putting a resource behind a DNAME will
make it invisible/unreachable to the average microsoft user, then we
are s-o-l on any plans that depend on DNAME.
