[dns-operations] does anybody know why yahoo+akamai are doing this?

It probably is a windows bug fix. Those peculiar root records will be
replaced by ". CNAME  local" to keep them from spamming Bill :)

At the moment they try to find out how many CNAMEs in a row are needed
to break their neck.
