Because it's a tough job and somebody's got to do it. The only way to  
improve ICANN is to engage with it, even if that's a painful and  
thankless process. Think of the alternatives if ICANN collapses.  
Those scenarios are likely to be far worse than what we have at  
present, flawed as it is. Evolution (even on Darwinistic time-scales)  
has to be a better option here than revolution.

So stand for the Board Brad. Put your money where your mouth is  
(figuratively speaking).
