Hello Ondřej,

ISC's QA engineering positing is very attractive to me, and I intend to
apply. However, I have two questions.

Would ISC consider hiring someone part-time for the position? The story
is, for many years I've been a contractor. That continues to go well,
but I've been playing with the thought of a part-time regular position,
but keeping a few of my favorite contacting jobs in addition. While I
had concerns about making the change, working with BIND as my primary
focus, and working for ISC, makes the decision extremely attractive.
Those are opportunities I absolutely do not want to let pass. Yet, I'd
like to avoid fully giving up what I'm doing today. Therefore, a
part-time situation would be ideal.

The other question is about timing. Can ISC wait until, at the latest,
July 15th for applications? I'm currently traveling for work followed by
a few additional personal days, and it would be easier to update my
rather out-of-date resume/CV and apply, after I was back at home.

Appropriately, my trip is to teach the course DNS & BIND Week. It is the
identical course that ISC teaches, that Eddy teaches, for support
customers. I work for Men & Mice teaching public courses. I've been
teaching DNS/BIND courses for Men & Mice, including many times at ISC
head-quarters in RwC, for many years. Currently, I'm currently the main
developer of the DNS & BIND course material.

I look forward to applying and hope to be working with you in the near
future.

Best regards and thank you,
Dave

In pursuit of this goal, we have a team dedicated to developing open-source Internet infrastructure software. Our main products are BIND 9, the Internet’s most popular DNS server, and Kea, a modern implementation of the dynamic host configuration protocol, as well as its predecessor ISC DHCP.
