Job Title: Support Engineer

Locations: Asia/Pacific, Americas, Worldwide

CentralNic is seeking candidates for a position as an Off-Site Support
Engineer, working remotely but reporting to the CTO in London.
Successful candidates will be brought to London for training before
starting work from their remote locations.

CentralNic is Europe’s largest provider of domain registry services for
generic TLDs, including .xyz, .feedback, .contact, .rest, .wiki, and
.ink, as well as ccTLDs such as .LA and .PW, and our own portfolio of
domain extensions including .UK.COM, .US.COM and .EU.COM.

* Skills Required

Candidates must have knowledge of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS,
HTTP etc) and know how to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with domain
names, network connections and servers. Knowledge of the Unix/Linux
command line tools for basic administration and troubleshooting is
essential.

Knowledge of domain name industry practices and policies would be
desirable but not essential.

Candidates must have excellent written and spoken English in addition to
excellent skills in their own native language. Additional languages
would be very useful.

Candidates must be self-disciplined and able to work without direct
supervision.

* Experience Required

No work experience is required: this is an excellent opportunity for a
recent graduate from a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
background, looking to enter the IT, Internet or Telecoms industries.

* Responsibilities

- Perform 1st and 2nd Line technical support for registrars, registry
partners and other stakeholders while the London office is closed

- Deal with abuse complaints and dispute resolution requests

- Respond to support tickets, telephone calls and NOC alerts, escalating
to operations staff as required

- Provide language support to operations and business development staff

- Occasional out-of-hours support during busy times and emergencies

* The Position

You will be a member of the team that develops and maintains
CentralNic's domain name registry system, and the infrastructure that
supports it. We maintain extremely demanding service levels on services
operating at high levels of load.
