I enjoyed it -- it's what encouraged us to do some of the work described in RFC 7108 (the IDENTITY.L.ROOT-SERVERS.ORG stuff in particular). Hopefully I didn't misattribute the work; John's name was really just a short cut description of the wider team :-)
