We are waiting for the working group last call of two documents:

While it's early to predict success (and the attendant IANA actions) the mood of dnsop at least seems to be to use this mechanism to provide v6 transport for new AS112-like names (including those under ip6.arpa), and ultimately to transition the existing zones delegated to prisoner and friends to DNAME redirection.

I think this is a better solution than trying to duct-tape v6 transport onto the existing delegations.

If you (collectively) have opinions about this, it would be great to hear them on the dnsop mailing list.
