Hi all,

It's been a while and I'm not sure how many of you are monitoring
the status of the AS112 drafts that Joe Abley and I have at the IETF dnsop
working group. draft-ietf-dnsop-as112-under-attack-help-help-00.txt has
now gone on to working group last call (WGLC). This closes August 22,
2007.

The other draft, draft-ietf-dnsop-as112-ops-00.txt is still active in the
working group, but any input you have for this document in particular
would be appreciated (either here and then summarized to the dnsop mailing
list, or preferably, on the dnsop mailing list itself). Joe's slides
regarding the draft's status from the July 2007 IETF meeting can be found
here:

 	http://www3.ietf.org/proceedings/07jul/slides/dnsop-2.pdf

Note especially slide 4 where we're seeking guidance on expanding the
AS112's coverage of dealing on behalf of other zones. This part is
pretty important as it will increase traffic to your nodes (or maybe not
with draft....local-zones-02) if AS112 is extended to cover other zones
beyond what is done now. Thanks very much to those that have already
contributed.

One suggestion made to me in private was to extend AS112 operations to
cover the multicast Administratively Scoped Block (239/8). Perhaps bizarre,
perhaps not. Comments?

You should also read draft-ietf-dnsop-default-local-zones-02.txt as
this has an influence on AS112 draft work.

Thanks,

wfms
