I'd be interested to know what you think this list community wrt your
community are, because there seem to be some assumptions being made.

I have no issue with your need to make a living, nor am I suggesting
that anyone should be getting a free ride; but you appear to be saying,
and doing your best to make them feel, that the people who operate the
Internet's global DNS infrastructure are unwelcome at your DNS
conference.  I'm sure I'm not the only one here who finds this curious/
bemusing - deterring potentially paying attendees seems like a strange
way to make money ?
